Hi, I'm taking a real interest in microbiology but I'm having difficulty finding a really good source (website or book) for identification of microorganisms. Personally I am an environmental biologist (or working to become one), so I am use to having field guides for identification of things like plants, animals, invertebrates etc., but I have yet to find a good reference book for quick identification of microorganisms (including protozoan, bacteria, fungi etc.). Does such a book exist? If so, please contact me so that I may acquire it. I will make my life a lot easier.

Thanks a million,

it's very difficult to identify microorganisms w/o special resources! even then it's difficult to determine them exactly, eventually you'll have to ask for help at universities and scientific institutes...

there are two books to identify are "Bergey's Manual of Determinative Bacteriology" and "the prokaryotes". both very expensive...
